Timing Belt Handling and Storage
Proper storage is important to avoid damage to timing belts, which may cause premature failure of timing belts Do not store timing belts on the floor unless in a protective container to avoid damage that could result in serious personal injury or the equipment is damaged. The timing belt should be stored in a non-direct exposure, dry and cool environment, and there is no chemical around. Avoid storing the timing belt next to the window (to avoid sunlight and humidity), not close to the motor or equipment that generates ozone, and also Must not be near the direct airflow of the heating/cooling system.
Do not crimp the timing belt during loading, unloading or storage to avoid damage to the belt core, and do not hang the timing belt on a small pin to avoid bending into a small diameter. Load and unload timing belts carefully during movement and installation. During installation, the timing belt must not be forced against the pulley flange.
