Timing Belt Handling and Storage

Proper storage is important to avoid damage to timing belts, which may cause premature failure of timing belts Do not store timing belts on the floor unless in a protective container to avoid damage that could result in serious personal injury or the equipment is damaged. The timing belt should be stored in a non-direct exposure, dry and cool environment, and there is no chemical around. Avoid storing the timing belt next to the window (to avoid sunlight and humidity), not close to the motor or equipment that generates ozone, and also Must not be near the direct airflow of the heating/cooling system.

Do not crimp the timing belt during loading, unloading or storage to avoid damage to the belt core, and do not hang the timing belt on a small pin to avoid bending into a small diameter. Load and unload timing belts carefully during movement and installation. During installation, the timing belt must not be forced against the pulley flange.

Common Faults and Solutions for V Belts

14 Aug,2020

A: There is noise: the tension is too large or too small, the solution: the tension should be adjusted. B: Edge wear: 1) Timing belt incident is not parallel 2) Timing belt wheel steering deflection 3) Rising pulley has cracks 4) Bearing has gaps Solution: 1)  Straighten the non-parallel synchronous belt wheels and replace the synchronous belt. 2) Replace the tensioner, suspension wheel and timing belt C: Wear of the surface fabric at the root of the convex tooth (1) Excessive tension (2) Excessive temperature (3) Damage to the synchronous pulley. Solution: (1) Adjust the tension (2) Find the cause of the high temperature and repair it (3) Replace the synchronous pulley D: The flanks of the convex teeth are abnormally worn, the bottom is cracked, and the convex teeth are cut: (1) The tightening force is too large or too small (2) There is foreign body (3) The timing belt pulley or the tension pulley is seized. Solution: (1) Adjust the tension (2) Remove foreign objects (3) Find the cause and repair E: The volume of the surface fabric of the convex teeth: the engine or other parts have liquid leakage. Solution: repair the leaking parts and replace the timing belt F: Movement scratches on the convex teeth: (1) Foreign matter (2) The timing belt is damaged before or during installation Solution: (1) Remove foreign objects (2) Replace the timing belt and install it correctly G: Cracks appear on the back of the synchronous belt: (1) The surrounding temperature is too high or too low (2) There is foreign matter (3) The suspension wheel is sticky (4) Aging Solution: (1) Find the cause and solve it (2) Replace the timing belt and check the door cover (3) Replace the idler wheel and timing belt (4) Replace the timing belt H: The timing belt suddenly breaks: (1) There is a foreign body (2) The tension is too large (3) The timing belt is improperly bent before installation Solution: (1) Remove foreign matter (2) Adjust the tension (3) Replace the timing belt I: Related parts are damaged: (1) There is a gap in the bearing (2) The moving contact surface is damaged Solution: (1) Replace the tensioner, idler and guide wheel
