Correct installation of Timing Belt

(1) Turn off the power, remove the protective cover, and loosen the assembly bolts of the motor. Move the motor to make the belt slack enough so that the belt can be removed without prying. Never pry the belt off.

(2) Remove the old belt and check for abnormal wear. Excessive wear may mean problems with the design or maintenance of the transmission.

3Choose a suitable belt replacement.

(4) To clean the belt and pulley, wipe the cloth with a little volatile liquid. Soaking in detergent or using detergent to scrub the belt is not advisable. In order to remove oil and dirt, rubbing with sandpaper or scraping with a sharp object is obviously not advisable. The belt must be kept dry before installation and use.

(5) Check whether the pulley has abnormal wear or cracks. If the wear is excessive, the pulley must be replaced.

(6) Check whether the pulley is linearly symmetrical. It is very important for the pulley to be linearly symmetrical to the operation of the transmission belt, especially the synchronous belt transmission.

(7) Check the rest of the transmission components, such as the symmetry, durability and lubrication of bearings and sleeves.

(8) Install a new belt on the pulley, never pry or use excessive force.

(9) Tighten the center distance of the transmission device until the tension meter measures the belt tension properly. Turn the driving wheel a few times by hand to re-measure the tension.

(10) Tighten the device bolts of the motor to correct the torque. Since any changes in the transmission during operation will cause poor belt performance, it is important to ensure that all transmission components are tightened.

(11) Start the device and observe the belt performance, check whether there is abnormal vibration, and listen carefully for abnormal noise. It is best to turn off the machine and check the condition of the bearings and motors; if it feels too hot to the touch, it may be that the belt is too tight, the bearing is asymmetrical, or the lubrication is incorrect.
