Conveyor Belt Break Prevention and Solutions

1. Reasons for broken belt:

(1) The tension of the conveyor belt is not enough.

(2) The conveyor belt has been used for an extended period of time and is seriously aging.

(3) Large pieces of material or iron objects hit the conveyor belt or get stuck.

(4) The quality of the conveyor belt joint does not meet the requirements.

(5) The conveyor belt joint is seriously deformed or damaged.

(6) The conveyor belt is stuck.

(7) The tension of the conveyor belt tensioner on the conveyor belt is too large.

2. Prevention and treatment of broken belt:

(1) Replace the conveyor belt that meets the requirements.

(2) The expired conveyor belt should be replaced in time.

(3) Strictly control the loading of bulk materials and iron objects to the conveyor.

(4) Replace the damaged connector.

(5) Add deviation adjustment drag rollers and anti-deviation protection devices; if the conveyor belt is found to be stuck by the frame, it should be stopped immediately.

(6) Adjust the tensioning force of the tensioning device properly.

3. After a belt breakage accident occurs, the following steps can be taken to deal with it:

(1) Remove the floating coal on the broken belt.

(2) Use a card board to hold one end of the broken belt.

(3) Lock the other end of the broken belt with a wire rope.

(4) Loosen the tensioner.

(5) Pull the conveyor belt with a winch.

(6) Cut the end of the conveyor belt.

(7) Connect the conveyor belt with metal clips, cold bonding or vulcanization.

(8) After the trial operation, it is confirmed that there is no problem, and then put into operation.
