Common main damage forms of V-Belt

 

V-Belts are more prone to the following forms of damage during use:

 

 1) The tension is too large or insufficient. Excessive or insufficient tension are two problems that are prone to occur during use of the V-belt. If the tension on the V-belt is too large, the deformation will be large, and the life of the V-belt will be reduced accordingly. If the tension of the V-belt is insufficient, it will make the friction difficult to meet the requirements, and then the slip phenomenon will occur, which will increase the wear of the V-belt, and then make it lose the ability to transmit the load, and the transmission will be unstable. Of the transmission fails.

 

 2) There is debris and the pulley are not aligned. The debris on the V-belt will also affect the use of the V-belt. For example, some of the V-belt contains stolen oil, etc. These impurities contain chemicals that can cause erosion on the surface of the V-belt and thus its material. The structure is damaged. At the same time, if the pulley is not aligned, it will also cause the triangle belt to slide, twist and heat and wear inside, so it is important to pay attention to the alignment of the pulley.

 

 3) Excessive vibration and starting overload. Normally, if the machine vibrates too much, it will cause rapid twitching of the V-belt, which will cause serious damage to the V-belt and reduce the service life of the V-belt. In the case of the starting overload of the V-belt, excessive tension will occur, which in turn will damage the V-belt due to sliding.

 

 4) Wheel groove wear and corrosion. The belt groove of the V-belt is very susceptible to wear and corrosion and rust. If the pulley is used for a long time, the groove edge wear increases and the angle is not accurate. The tension force will eventually cause damage to the V-belt. At the same time, if the pulley groove of the V-belt is corroded and rusted, it will become rough, which in turn will make the V-belt wear more severe.

 

 5) The length of the triangle belt varies. If the length of a row of belts is unequal, the tension force that each triangle belt bears is not the same, and sometimes there will be slipping or excessive tension, which will cause damage to the triangle belt. Therefore, when using a V-belt, be sure to select the same type of V-belt.

 

 6) Other damaged forms of triangle belt. Rubber is the main component of the V-belt. If the V-belt is stored for too long, it will cause the aging of the rubber, which will affect the life of the V-belt. And if the V-belt does not work for a long time, it should be opened, otherwise it will reduce the life of the V-belt and then deform it. In addition, the dust, acid and alkali gas or other gases that will damage the V-belt in the environment of the work site will also shorten the life of the V-belt.
